About Conservation Halton Foundation
The Conservation Halton Foundation raises funds to promote a healthy environment with clean streams, abundant forests and natural spaces to enjoy with our family and friends.
Since 1974, we have raised more than $3 million for environmental projects that include
- re-constructing a 15 th century Iroquoian Indian village
- purchasing sensitive natural lands
- funding reforestation projects through our Trees for Watershed Health initiative and
- publishing the best-selling Halton: Rising, Wild and Beckoning.
The Foundation has helped:
- Build a new 'floating classroom at Mountsberg Conservation Area,
- Plant 3,100 trees at community tree planting events,
- Published "Halton Hikes" a guide to 50 great nature trails in Halton
- Raised $40,000 to sponsor the Halton Children's Water Festival and teach 3,000 students about water conservation and stewardship
- Develop the "Watt's the Difference" energy conservation and renewable energy education program at Mountsberg Conservation Area
