About Credit Valley Conservation Foundation
The Credit Valley Conservation Foundation is committed to raising funds and awareness in support of an environmentally healthy watershed for economically and socially sustainable communities.
Since 1964, we have raised funds in support of such environmental projects as:
- Tree planting and land reforestation initiatives
- Rehabilitation efforts such as data collection, carp exclosures, habitat structure installation and butterfly gardens
- Environmental Education Programs
- Memorial Forests and Commemorative Benches
- Trail development and maintenance
- Educational bursaries for students entering post secondary education at the University of Guelph , the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo in the fields of Geography and Environmental Studies
- The acquisition and protection of environmentally significant lands
In 2011, the Foundation helped:
- The Conservation Youth Corps plant 10,000 native trees and shrubs in the Credit River Watershed
- complete major infrastructure improvements to Rattray Marsh Conservation Area
- Secure funds and community support towards the construction of the Terra Cotta Centre for Environmental Learning
